Foundations of Biblical Theology is a multi-volume theological series by Dr. Jean Marc Joseph devoted to exploring the major doctrines of the Christian faith through the unfolding witness of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation.

Each volume addresses a major dimension of Christian doctrine, including spiritual warfare, salvation, the person and work of the Holy Spirit, and the consummation of all things. Written for pastors, students, ministry leaders, and serious readers of Scripture, the series seeks to strengthen doctrinal clarity, encourage faithful interpretation of the Word of God, and equip believers for deeper discipleship.

Know Your Enemies

A Biblical Theology of Satan, the Flesh, and the World

Spiritual warfare is real, but it is often misunderstood. Scripture identifies three primary adversaries that oppose the believer: Satan, the flesh, and the world. This volume offers a redemptive-historical and canonically grounded theology of spiritual warfare, showing how these enemies operate throughout Scripture and how believers are called to stand firm in the victory of Jesus Christ.

Who Do People Say the Holy Spirit Really Is?

A Canonical and Redemptive-Historical Theology of the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

Confusion about the Holy Spirit remains widespread in the modern church. This volume examines the identity, personhood, and ministry of the Holy Spirit throughout the biblical canon. From creation to Pentecost and beyond, it presents a doctrinally careful and scripturally grounded theology of the Spirit’s role in revelation, regeneration, sanctification, and the life of the church.

The True Path to Heaven

It presents Jesus Christ as the only true and living way to the Father.

The Consummation of All Things

The Consummation of All Things

OUR BELIEFS

The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Holy Scriptures (The Bible) are given by inspiration of God. 2 Timothy 3: 16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

God

We believe in the oneness of God meaning that “The Lord our God is one true God” Deuteronomy 6:4

We believe that our God is:

  • Omnipresent: He is present everywhere at the same time (Ps 139: 7-12; Jer 23: 23-24);

  • Omniscient:  He knows everything (Ps 139: 1-6; 147:5);

  • Omnipotent: He is all powerful and has ultimate authority over all things and all creatures (Ps. 147:13-18: Jer. 32:17; Mat. 19:26; Luke 1:37);

  • Transcendent: He is different and independent from his creation (see Ex. 24:9-18; Is. 6:1-3; 40:12-26; 55:8-9). His being and existence are infinitely greater and higher than the created order (1 Ki. 8:27; Is. 66:1-2; Acts 17:24-25). He dwells in perfect and pure existence, far above what He has made. He Himself is uncreated and exists apart from the creation;

  • Eternal: He is from everlasting to everlasting (Ps. 90:1-2; 102:12; Is. 57:15);

  • Unchangeable: There is no change in the attributes of God, in His perfections, or in His purpose for humankind (Num. 23:19; Ps. 102:26-28; Is. 41:4; Mal. 3:6; Heb. 1:11-12; Jas. 1:17);

  • Perfect and Holy: He is completely without sin and absolutely righteous (Lev. 11:44-45; Ps. 85:13; 145:17; Mat 5:48);

We believe that God is Triune. He is one God (Deut. 6:4; Is. 45:21; 1 Cor. 8:5-6; Eph. 4:6; 1 Tim. 2:5) who has manifested Himself in three divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (e.g., Mat. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; 1 Pet. 1:2). Each person is fully divine, equal with the other two; yet they are not three Gods, but one (Mat 3:17; Mark 1:11).

We believe in the moral attributes of God, such as:

  • His Love (1 John 4:8, 9-10; John 3:16; Rom 5:8)

  • His Goodness (Ps 25:8; 106:1; Mark 10:18, Ps 104:10-28; 145:9; Mat 5:45)

  • His Merciful & Gracious (Ex 34:6; 2 Chro 30:9, Ps 103:8,10; 145:8)

  • His Compassion (2 Ki. 13:23; Ps 86:15; 112:4)

  • His Patient & Longsuffering (Ex 34:6; Num 14:18; Rom 2:4; 1 Tim 1:16; 1 Peter 3:20; 2 Pi 3:9)

  • He is Truth (Ex. 34:6; Deut. 32:4; Ps 31:5; Isaiah 65:16; Ps 119:43

  • His Faithfulness (Deut. 7:9; Isaiah 49:7; Heb 10:23)

  • He is Just (Deut 32:4; Isaiah 45:21; 1 John 1:9)

We believe in the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, the diversities of spiritual gifts, and the importance of all gifts for the church to grow spiritually and be one body in Christ (1 Cor ch 12, 14)

Man

We believe that the humanity created by God have sinned (Rom 3:23; Eph 2:2) and under the cursed of God (Rom 1:18; therefore they need to accept the sacrifices offering in Jesus-Christ to be saved and have everlasting life (John 3:16; John 3:3, 5; Rom 10:9-10; Tit. 3:5; 2 Cor 5:17; Col 3:9-10; Rom 12:2)

Salvation

We believe that “Repentance” is very essential for someone to change from their evil ways to turn to Christ and have forgiveness for their sins (Acts 2:38; 8:22; 26:18; 1 Peter 2:25, John 14:1-6).

We believe that we are saved by Grace through Faith in Christ (Eph 2:8)

We believe in the minister of reconciliation and be one in Jesus-Christ Eph 2: 11-18

We believe in the “confession of sins” is very essential for someone to have forgiveness and the cleansing from God and be free from the slavery of sins. 1 John 1: 8-9; James 5:16; Proverbs 28:13; Job 31: 33-34.

We believe in the baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus (Mat 3: 13-16; 28:19; Mark 16-16; Acts 2:38; 8: 36-37

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 1:4,8; 2: 2-4, 38-39; 8: 14-17; 10: 44-45; 19:1-6)

The Church

We believe that we should LOVE God from all our hearts and souls, and love our neighbor as ourself (Mark 12:30-31, John 13:35; 1 Cor ch 13)

We believe that we are the habitation of God in spirits (Eph 2: 19)

We believe that the church was built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, Jesus-Christ is the Corner Stone (Eph 2:20, 2 Tim 2: 20-21)

We believe in the ministry gifts for the church to grow in grace, have unity in the Spirit, be no longer children who accept every wind of doctrine, hold and speak the reveal truth of the scripture in love, and walk in the righteousness and true holiness (Eph 4: 11-16)

We believe that the Christians should live holy life before God (Heb 12:14, 1 Thessalonians 4: 3, 7; 2 Cor 7:1; Luke 1:75)

We believe in the Holy Communion (1 Corinthians 11 :24-28)

We believe in the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous and the Christians should pray without ceasing (1 The 5:17; James 5:16; Luke 18:1)

We believe in the Great Commission. We believe that all Christians have to go throughout the world to proclaim the gospel of God as the Master required (Mat 28: 19-20; Mark 16: 15-16)

Marriage

  • "Jesus replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’, So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Matthew 19: 4-6

  • "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge" Hebrew 13: 4:

  • "We believe that Marriage ordained by God and we don’t believe in divorce Except it be for fornication (Mat 19: 1-9, 1 Cor 7, Heb 13:4)

Eschatology (End Times)

We believe there will be a Rapture – Jesus-Christ will be descending from heaven to meet with his Church in the air. That only involves the faithful of Christ’s church. 1 Thes 4: 16-17; 1 Cor 15:51-53; Jn 14:2-3

We believe in the end time events:

  • The Great Tribulation (Mat 24:15-18, Dan 9:27);

  • The battle of Armageddon (Rev 16:16); 3)

  • The wedding feast of the Lamb (Rev 19:7-10); 4)

  • The Judgment of the Great White Throne (Rev 20:11-13); 5)

  • The millennium (Revelation 20:4; Isaiah 9:6; 65: 19-25; Mic 4:1-8, Zech 14:1-9; cf Rev 2:25-28)
